Ooni inaugurates committee for Yoruba culture carnival

Ahead of the first World Yoruba Carnival of Arts and Culture holding next February, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 11, has inaugurated a seven-member Central Planning Committee (CPC), led by Otunba Femmy Carrena, who will serve as Coordinator-General, Worldwide for the event.

Ahead of the first World Yoruba Carnival of Arts and Culture holding next February, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has inaugurated a seven-member Central Planning Committee (CPC), led by Otunba Femmy Carrena, who will serve as Coordinator-General, Worldwide for the event.

The committee members include: Dr. Tunde Adegbola, Chief Tunde Odunlade, an internationally renowned artist; Chief Ayo Afolabi (a political communicator, product and brand marketing guru), Mr. Oluwaseun Olayiwola and Mr. Yemi Shodimu.

A statement from the Ooni’s palace and signed by Otunba Carrena said the carnival slated to hold in Ile-Ife, Osun State, would revisit Yoruba’s positive history, culture and tradition that had survived for millennia.
