The Oniru of Iru Land in Lagos, Oba Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal has paid an historic visit to the Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt @Coptic_orthodox.

The visit was sequel to an earlier visit of the Bishop of the Coptic orthodox mission to Africa @coptic_church_nigeria – H.G Bishop Paul Youwakeem to the monarch in February 2021.

Oba Lawal, who was accompanied by his wife, Olori Mariam Lawal, also paid a visit to the Nigerian High Commission in Cairo, Egypt.

Speaking on the essence of the visit, the monarch said: “I would like to appreciate the Pope and the entire Coptic Church for their hospitality and for the great conversations we had about the possibility of partnerships in the near future.

“I also appreciate the Nigerian High Commission for receiving me, even as I look forward to mutually beneficial partnerships for the benefit of Iru Land, in the near foreseeable future,” he said.
