The Vice Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Shamsideen Oloyede, has announced the commencement of a free coaching programme for candidates preparing for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
The initiative, scheduled to begin on March 2, 2026, is aimed at strengthening students’ academic preparedness and improving their prospects of securing admission into tertiary institutions.
According to the Vice Chairman, the programme will provide structured tutorials, academic guidance and mentorship facilitated by experienced instructors, at no cost to participating students. The intervention is intended to ease the financial burden on parents while enhancing educational outcomes within the council area.
Oloyede noted that education remains a critical tool for youth empowerment and sustainable community development. He described the initiative as part of broader efforts to invest in human capital and create opportunities for young people in Onigbongbo LCDA.
He urged eligible students to take advantage of the programme and remain committed, disciplined and focused in their preparation for the examination.
The free coaching scheme is expected to benefit a significant number of candidates across the community and further reinforce the council’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and youth development.
