Onigbongbo Legislative Council honours late Chairman, Hon Babatunde Oke with special plenary section

The Onigbongbo Legislative Council on Thursday hosted a special plenary section in honour of late Council Chairman, Babatunde Oke who died 12th August, 2020 after a protracted sickness.

The event to mark the one-year anniversary of the demised of the Council boss kick started with the Council Leader, Hon Kayode Opayemi making the opening tribute with the family of the late Chairman in attendance.

It was a celebration of lifetime of late Hon. Babatunde Francis Oke, where many spoke very glowingly and beautifully about the late gentleman indelible and awesome characteristics. They delightfully showered admiring, adorable and amiable accolades on him, as he equally received a standing ovation with dignified encomium with an enthusiastic outpouring of beautiful expressions on him.

The Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Hon. Tayo Ayinde, described Oke as a person with godly nature, his simplicity and his impeccable integrity. He said that had been an intimate friend of Hon. Oke for 40 years until his death.

Hon. Ayinde appreciated the Legislative House members for putting up the plenary in remembrance of the late Chairman, and he prayed that they will all live long enough and achieve their beautiful missions on earth, and that untimely death would not visit anyone of them.

He prayed to Almighty God, to continue to grant comfort to the family the deceased left behind and continue to grant them uncommon fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of the late Honourable Francis Oke.

The Executive Chairman of Onigbogbo LCDA, Hon Oladotun Olakanle eulogized his former boss, promised to build on his legacies.

Hon Olakanle also stated that he had enjoyed over 38 years relationship with Late Hon Oke, said that when he was juxtaposed for Oke as the Council Chairman of Onigbongbo in 2011, he had to accept to be his Vice because of Oke’s antecedents in party politics. He noted that for the two term he served as his vice there was no time a third party intervein in their matter, he noted that they had cordial relationship.
