It was an atmosphere of joy and pouring of encomium on the Councillor representing Ward B at the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA Legislative arm under Ikeja Local Government Area in Lagos State, Nigeria, Honourable Bello Isiaka who also doubles as the Chief Whip of the Legislative Chamber, when he organised a series of his social intervention programmes aimed at delivering dividends of good governance at the grassroots.

Upon the assumption of office by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the 29th of May, 2023, he announced the immediate removal of fuel subsidy that had enriched a few privileged cabals in the oil industry, thereby impoverished a mass of Nigerians. Top on the agenda of the president is his “Renewed Hope” drive to reorder the even distribution of the country’s patrimony for the benefit of all and especially the masses and the most vulnerable in the society.

Keying into the policy thrust of the federal and state governments, Hon. Bello Isiaka organised an event to distribute food stuff (palliative) from the Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Councillor also distributed cash grant of N20,000 each to about fifty beneficiaries while there were about sixty recipients of N5,000 each as supported by other political stakeholders present at the event.

In the remarks of the Councillor, he noted that he can feel the pulse of his people and he is not oblivious of the economic challenges ravaging the land but he will continue to serve as a succour to them in tandem with the mandate of his political party, the All Progressives Party, APC. He said that there will be continuous empowerment from him as he is not stopping any time soon while in office as that is his primary duty towards his people.

He expressed his appreciation for the support from his political leader at the Ward.

He urged the people to remain patriotic and optimistic about the country, assuring them of a positive turnaround in the polity as a result of the performances of President Bola Tinubu, GCFR and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Speaking on behalf of the grantees and beneficiaries, Fatai Suraju eulogised the councillor for his many programmes of alleviating poverty within the Ward.

Prominent amongst the dignitaries that graced the occasion and supported the programme were Dr. Ore Finnih, Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs; Vice Chairman of the Council, Rekiyat Hassan, Esq.; former Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Hauwa Adeyeye; former LCDA party vice chairman, Hon Ayo Arobieke; Supervisory Councillor on Boundaries, Onigbongbo LCDA, Caroline Ojabulu; Bisi Yusuf and others.
