ONE YEAR OF IMPACT: AGUNBIADE’S LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS IN ETI-OSA EAST

Barely one year after assuming office, the administration of the Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Samson Agunbiade, has recorded notable achievements across critical sectors, with interventions spanning security, education, infrastructure, electricity, healthcare, youth development and grassroots empowerment.

Security, Education, Infrastructure, Power, Healthcare and Empowerment Drive First-Year Agenda

Barely one year after assuming office, the administration of the Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Samson Agunbiade, has recorded notable achievements across critical sectors, with interventions spanning security, education, infrastructure, electricity, healthcare, youth development and grassroots empowerment.

The administration’s first year in office has focused on people-oriented initiatives designed to address immediate community needs while laying the foundation for sustainable development across Eti-Osa East.
From the renovation of police facilities and provision of security vehicles to road construction, installation of transformers and streetlights, educational support programmes and healthcare interventions, the administration has pursued a broad development agenda aimed at improving the quality of life of residents.

Among the key achievements recorded are:
1. Renovation of Ogombo Police Station
The administration renovated the Ogombo Police Station, providing a more conducive working environment for security personnel and strengthening the station’s capacity to serve residents effectively.
2. Total Rehabilitation of Badore Primary School. As part of its commitment to quality education, the administration undertook the total rehabilitation of Badore Primary School, transforming the learning environment and making it more conducive for both pupils and teachers.

3. Five Utility Vehicles for Enhanced Security Operations
Five utility vehicles were procured to strengthen security operations across the LCDA. Three of the vehicles were allocated to the Ogombo, Langbasa and Ajiweh Police Stations.
The intervention is expected to improve mobility, patrol operations, emergency response and overall security coverage within the council area.

4. 12 Units of 500KVA Transformers for Communities
To address electricity supply challenges, the administration procured 12 units of 500KVA transformers for Community Development Associations (CDAs).
The initiative is aimed at strengthening electricity infrastructure and supporting economic and social activities in beneficiary communities.

5. Construction and Completion of Five Roads
The administration has undertaken the construction and completion of five roads across Eti-Osa East LCDA, improving accessibility, movement of people and goods, and connectivity among communities.

6. Ongoing Construction of Permanent Secretariat
Construction of the Eti-Osa East LCDA Permanent Secretariat at Abraham Adesanya is ongoing.
Upon completion, the landmark facility is expected to provide a permanent administrative base for the council and further improve the efficiency of local government service delivery.

7. Empowerment Programmes for Residents
The administration has implemented empowerment programmes targeted at residents, creating opportunities for skills development, improved livelihoods and greater economic self-reliance.

8. Official Vehicles for Political Office Holders
Official vehicles were procured for political office holders to enhance mobility and enable them to discharge their responsibilities more effectively.

9. Free JAMB Forms for Students
The administration provided free JAMB forms for students within the LCDA as part of efforts to reduce the financial burden on families and expand access to tertiary education opportunities.

10. Free Health Check-ups for Residents
Free health check-up programmes have been organised for residents, promoting preventive healthcare, early detection of health concerns and access to basic health screening, particularly for vulnerable members of the community.

11. Coaster Bus for Council Staff
A Coaster bus was procured for council staff to improve mobility, facilitate official movements and support the effective implementation of council programmes and activities.

12. Coaster Bus for Baales-in-Council
Recognising the important role of traditional institutions in grassroots governance and community development, the administration procured a Coaster bus for the Baales-in-Council.

The vehicle is expected to facilitate the mobility of traditional leaders and their participation in official engagements and community development activities.

13. Free GCE Forms for Students
The administration provided free GCE forms to students within the LCDA, further demonstrating its commitment to educational advancement and reducing financial barriers to examination opportunities.

14. Modern Whiteboards for Public Primary Schools
Modern whiteboards were procured and distributed across all public primary schools within Eti-Osa East LCDA to improve classroom facilities and support effective teaching and learning.

15. Summer Skills Acquisition and Lessons
The administration also introduced summer skills acquisition programmes and lessons for students and pupils, providing young residents with opportunities to learn new skills, improve their academic performance and develop productive capacities during the holiday period.

16. Installation of Streetlights
Streetlights were procured and installed on some major streets within the LCDA as part of efforts to improve visibility, enhance the safety of residents and contribute to better security within the communities.

A DEVELOPMENT-FOCUSED FIRST YEAR
The array of interventions recorded during the first year reflects an administration seeking to combine infrastructure development with investment in human capital and community welfare.
