Omooba Adeola Adetoro Empowers Women in Eti-Osa

The 2nd edition of the OAA Helping Hands Initiative, played host to women in Eti-Osa Community by holding it’s empowerment program. The theme for the programme was EMPOWERING WOMEN AND ACHIEVING GENDER EQUALITY.

The 2nd edition of the OAA Helping Hands Initiative, played host to women in Eti-Osa Community by holding it’s empowerment program. The theme for the programme was EMPOWERING WOMEN AND ACHIEVING GENDER EQUALITY.

The event witnessed a massive turnout from women in diverse fields and men playing the supportive roles as it should be. Several talks were held by notable and distinguished Ladies to enlighten our women on topics such as:

Economic Empowerment for the woman,

Leadership and Political Participation of women and

Ending Violence Against Women.

The highpoint of the program was the distribution of various Employment items to the women. Items ranging from Cash gifts to High Capacity Grinding Machine, Hair Dryer, Gas cooking set with an oven, Table Top Gas Cooker, Cylinder, Barbing Clippers and food items. According to Hon. Omooba Adeola Adetoro, her intentions is to make more women economically viable and not completely rely on their husbands as the sole breadwinner of the house.

The excitement in the air was quite palpable as the lucky beneficiaries expressed their gratitude towards the convener and prayed extensively for her. Various dignitaries commended the host for actualizing a vision she always had. For following it up by sourcing for funds and collaborations privately In order to ensure she adds value to the lives of the women in Eti-Osa. Amongst such partnership is Friska Farms Limited, headed by Mr Uthman Imanah, who generously donated foods and cereals to be shared amongst nursing mothers. Miss Doyinsola Ogunye founder of RESWAYE (recycling scheme for women and youth empowerment) also supported the course with donation of some cooking items that was distributed as well.

Notable present were the Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa local government, Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole, White Cap Chiefs, Members of the Legislative council of Eti-Osa Local Government, several distinguished officers from the Lagos State Government, APC party Apex leaders and party faithfuls, CDC/CDA leaders and members as well.
