
In a ceremony steeped in tradition and regal pageantry, Barrister Seyi Ahmed Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been officially conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade.

The conferment recognizes Barrister Tinubu’s significant contributions to the development, cultural preservation, and progress of the Yoruba nation. The title, which translates loosely as “beloved child of the Yoruba people,” underscores his role as a custodian of Yoruba values and heritage.
Hon. Abisola Omisore, Executive Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Council, lauded the conferment as a fitting acknowledgment of Seyi Tinubu’s dedication to community service and youth empowerment.
Omisore said “This is a well-deserved honour for someone who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the growth and unity of our people. “We celebrate him today and look forward to his continued contributions,” Omisore said.

The event drew a distinguished audience, including political leaders, traditional rulers, and prominent figures from Lagos and across Yorubaland, reflecting the high regard in which the honoree is held.
