Olorunda Council Chairman, Hon Olatunde presents 2022 Budget of Growth, Economic Development

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA) today, Thursday 17th February, 2022 presented year 2022 Budget to the Legislative arm of the government of the Council.

The budget, tagged; BUDGET OF GROWTH AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT was presented at the Legislative Chamber, Iworo, Olorunda LCDA and is set to service the projections for the year in view, which in line with the tag of the budget, would ensure growth and economic development maintains utmost priority.

The session kicked-off with an intricate review of the 2021 Budget which saw the Council record major successes through the execution of projects in the Education sector, Security, Health, Environment, Women affairs/Youth and poverty alleviation, Staff welfare etc.

While presenting the budget, the Mayor of the Council, Hon. Olatunde, appreciated all who have contributed to the successes recorded thus far, starting with the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. In his words;

“I sincerely express my profound appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for supporting our efforts towards greater achievements, my party leaders, Honorable members of this House and the good people of Olorunda Local Council Development Area for the cooperation we have enjoyed and your support which has enabled us to achieve greater percentage of our set targets in the 2021 Budget”.

Hon. Olatunde further assured all in attendance that the administration would not rest on its laurels, rather, consolidation would be pursued with utmost focus so as to ensure that the ultimate goal of economic prosperity is achieved for the benefit of the Council populace.

While addressing the sitting, the Leader of the Legislative arm, Hon. Ariwayo Christian Olaseni promised that the Legislative arm would give its unflinching support, sincererity and total commitment to the administration on the quick passage of the proposed budget into law so as to fast-track the implementation of the good agenda of “Mr. Project and Mr. Prudent”, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Olatunde.

Also in attendance were; Hon. Ogungbemi Monsuru, Vice-chairman of the Council, Hon. Awotunde Idowu, Councillor representing Ward A, Hon. Mojeed Nurudeen, Councillor representing Ward B, Hon. Tudonu Moses, Councillor representing Ward C, Hon. Shatin Gbeleyi, Councillor representing Ward D, Management and staff of the Council led by the Council Manager, Mr. Olabode Dawodu and many more.
