Oloro bags Lagos Panorama SDG Grassroots Award

The Executive Chairman Ojodu LCDA Hon Olumuyiwa Julius Oloro was on Thursday presented with the Lagos Panorama SDG Grassroots Award.

The award presentation took place in the Chairman’s office by the Publisher/Editor of Lagos Panorama Comrade Tayo Aderinola

In his opening remark Aderinola stated that the essence of the award is to promote the Sustainable Development Goals in the grassroots administration of Nigeria kick starting with Lagos State.

The President of the Community Media Practitioner Association (COMPASS) of Nigeria noted that “though we ought to have presented this award since December 2019 but for the tight schedule of the Chairman delayed till today which I believe is the God’s appointed time”.

“Our editorial board in acknowledgment of the multi-faceted achievements of the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of Lagos State created in the year 2003 by the visionary leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

“We resolved to spotlight 10 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS with outstanding performances in achieving Sustainable Development Goals in the last 2 years of local government administration in Lagos State”.

Aderinola asserted that the Lagos Panorama Sustainable Development Goals Grassroots Awards is to identify truly meaningful grass-root developmental efforts by persons, Local governments, non-profit organizations and companies. The categorization of these awards will be in accordance with development indices of universal acceptance”.

“These awards are intended to motivate and spur grass-root development through contribution from all spheres and subsequent edition from 2020 nominees will be nominated by their respective Community Development Committee and voting shall be done by the Community Development Associations across the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas”.

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA Hon Julius Oloro expressed his gratitude to Lagos Panorama Editorial Board for the recognition of his efforts towards the development of Ojodu and stated that the award will spur him and his team to do more in the New Year.

Oloro stated that “I am very glad to have been recognised and presented with this prestigious award. I believe it is also a challenge for me because the reward for hard work is more work. So we are going to double our efforts to complete more sustainable development projects for the good people of Ojodu LCDA” the soft-spoken council Chairman averred.

The Ojodu Chairman also hinted Lagos Panorama that the completed Abibatu Mogaji Ultra-Modern Plaza is scheduled for commissioning by March by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Others at the occasion were the Council Information Officer Mrs Taiwo Ologun, Council Secretary Hon Segun Odunmbaku, Supervisor for Agric and Social Development Hon Oladapo Olanrewaju, Supervisor for WAPA Hon Funmilayo Layeni, Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure Hon Olawale Abdusalam and Mr Segun Daramola a Party Chieftain and former Ward Chairman of the APC.
