The Ojokoro Local Council Development Area sponsored Football Talent Hunt are currently in Europe for trials.
The team put up brilliant performances in the trials matches they have played so far.
The players who departed Nigeria for Ukraine penultimate Saturday accompanied by the sport loving Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Hammed Idowu Tijani.
The team have played two friendly matches with two ‘selected’ different teams in Ukraine, with the first match played on Wednesday ending 4 – 2 in favour of the Nigerian young players, while the second game ended in 1 – 1 draw.
Meanwhile, the team will play a trial match with an Ukrainian league club side later today.
Reports from the team’s camp in Ukraine indicated that the players have fully adapted to the weather conditions in the Country and they are all mentally and physically fit for the trial matches they are billed to play in Europe.
The Ojokoro Council boss, Hon. Tijani, who has been following the team’s activities in their training camp in Ukraine, disclosed in an interview with the correspondent of the Public Affairs Unit, Ojokoro LCDA, stated that he was really impressed with the performances and conducts of the players in their training camp, both on and off the pitch, since they arrived Ukraine.
With the impressive performances of these talented young players so far, it is hopeful that they are likely to get good contracts by professional football teams in Europe, which will justify the huge amount of money and efforts invested in the “Football Talent Hunt” programme which was organized last year by the Hon. H.I.D Tijani led administration in Ojokoro LCDA.
