The Ojodu LCDA officially ushered in a new era of grassroots governance with the inauguration of its 6th Legislative Assembly and the swearing-in ceremony of six newly elected Councillors representing the council’s six wards on Tuesday. 
In a historic ceremony held at both the Legislative Chambers and Council Hall, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira (Ward A) was reelected Leader of the Legislative Council, while Hon. Lanre Ogunnoiki (Ward D) became Deputy Leader. Hon. Abass Shakiru Abiodun Bismillah (Ward F) was appointed Majority Leader, and Hon. Shade Awolala (Ward B) took on the role of Chief Whip. Other key officers include Hon. Bukola Ademoyegun as Deputy Majority Leader and Hon. Lanre Fatiu Omoilu (Ward C) as Deputy Chief Whip.
The Ojodu LCDA Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, and Vice Chairman Hon. Funmi Layeni, who attended the event, charged the legislators to prioritize transparency, integrity, and cooperation with the executive to drive grassroots development.
Lagos State House of Assembly Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Adedamola Richard Kasunmu advised the Councillors to embed effective lawmaking to enhance service delivery and improve residents’ quality of life.
The event was attended by Hon Julius Oloro, former Council Chairman, Alhaja Stella Kokumo, LGA Party Chair, Apex Leaders, political stakeholders, traditional leaders and community members who expressed confidence in the new legislative team’s ability to deliver a tenure of inclusive governance, progress and sustainable impact.
