Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Wednesday conducted its Pre-Qualification and Bid Opening exercise in line with its commitment to transparency, accountability, and due process in public procurement.
The exercise, organised by the Council’s Procurement Unit, took place at the Ojodu LCDA Secretariat and was coordinated by the Tender Board Committee led by the Vice Chairman of the council, Hon Funmilayo Layeni. Contractors and bidders were formally invited to witness the process.
Declaring the session open, Alhaja Layeni welcomed all stakeholders on behalf of the Council Chairman, Hon. David Odunmbaku. She assured participants of an open and transparent process, free of bias, stressing that all submitted documents would be carefully examined. She further urged qualified contractors to be prepared to deliver quality projects, noting that the Chairman strongly supports open competitive bidding as a means of ensuring effective service delivery.
Ojodu LCDA had earlier advertised the invitation for Expressions of Interest for the Pre-Qualification Bidding Process on page 33 of The Nation newspaper on Thursday, January 8, 2026. According to the council, 51 submissions were received within the stipulated period, with one late submission, bringing the total number of bidders to 52.
Also in attendance was the Leader of the Legislative Arm of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, alongside other councillors. Hon. Apatira commended the Council Chairman and Vice Chairman for institutionalising the open bidding process, describing it as clear evidence of the administration’s commitment to transparency and quality service delivery. He further assured bidders of fairness and integrity throughout the exercise.
Speaking earlier, the Head of the Procurement Unit, Mrs. Olowokere, appreciated all participants for their cooperation and informed contractors that the date for the next stage of the bidding process would be communicated in due course.
