Ojodu Council Chairman, Odunmbaku commences the One-Year-In-Office anniversary with youth engagement, Teachers Empowerment

The Executive Chairman Ojodu LCDA, Hon David Olusegun Odunmbaku has commenced the 3-Day celebration in commemoration of his One-Year-In-Office anniversary with a symposium to positively engage Youths across the six wards of the council and rewarded outstanding teachers to motivate and improve on the quality of basic education in the local government.

The Executive Chairman Ojodu LCDA, Hon David Olusegun Odunmbaku has commenced the 3-Day celebration in commemoration of his One-Year-In-Office anniversary with a symposium to positively engage Youths across the six wards of the council and rewarded outstanding teachers to motivate and improve on the quality of basic education in the local government.

The Council Boss whose campaign mantra HEYS, an acronym for Health, Education, Youth Engagement and Social Infrastructure, at the council Main Hall, also handed over a dummy cheque of a million naira to the Executive Secretary Ikeja Local Education District (LED), Comrade Akeem Amosu, to enhance mobility and other transportation logistics of the Education District.

Three teachers were also rewarded after successfully winning an online competition organized and sponsored by the council to encourage and spur public school teachers in the LCDA to give their best so as to improve the quality of education of pupils.

The winner of the Teacher Empowerment contest, Shitta-Jimoh Tawakalitu received two-hundred and fifty thousand naira.

While the 1st runner up, Mosaku Debora got one hundred and fifty thousand naira and the second runner-up went home with a hundred thousand naira

Hon Odunmbaku while speaking with Lagos Panorama and other media at the event, stated that the essence of empowerment is to reward hard work and motivate the teachers to render topnotch service to the pupils of the Council and promised to increase the package in the coming years.

He also noted that the Executive Secretary Ikeja LED, was presented with the one-million naira to support transportation across the Ikeja Education District and urged other Councils within the district to also support the initiative.

Hon Odunmbaku while interacting with the youths at the symposium, advised them to remain focus and make their education more priority over other social activities. He also make a formal presentation of GCE forms to over 200 students who had been registered under the auspices of the LCDA.

Tools were also handed over to youths who are to commence training

The Executive Secretary Ikeja Education District, Comrade Akeem Amosu in an interview with Lagos Panorama at the event expressed gratitude to the Chairman for the thoughtful and impressive support in complementing the Lagos State Government effort in improving the quality of education and also the eLearning initiative of the THEMES Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Supervisor for Education Ojodu LCDA, Hon Olanrewaju, commended the Council Chairman for the wonderful initiative and very supportive in delivering quality education for the pupils of schools in the LCDA

Also at the event were the Vice Chairman, Hon Olubunmi Oluyaadi and the Leader Ojodu Legislative Council, Hon Opeyemi Apatira who both assisted the chairman with all various presentations.

Other attendees include the Council Management Staff, Coucil Manager, Treasurer, Head of Departments, Supervisors and Councillors.

Other event continue on Wednesday with grants to business community of the council, as the all-inclusive, full-packed events and engagements to highlight the achievement of the administration thus far in the Health, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Social Infrastructure (HEYS) Programme for stakeholders in the Ojodu community.
