Official commissioning of drainages and road on George Street Ikoyi

Ikoyi was agog on Thursday 13th day of January 2022 when a gigantic road project on George Street constructed with modern drainages at both sides was officially commissioned  for public use by no other than the speaking Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives himself, Rt. Hon. Femi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, the Member representing Surulere Federal Constituency.

Ikoyi was agog on Thursday 13th day of January 2022 when a gigantic road project on George Street constructed with modern drainages at both sides was officially commissioned  for public use by no other than the speaking Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives himself, Rt. Hon. Femi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, the Member representing Surulere Federal Constituency.

The programme was declared open by the best performing Executive Chairman of the most urbanized Local Council in sub-saharan Africa, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal who informed attendees about the dilapidated state of the road with deep potholes which normally cause damages to vehicles navigating along the road as well as serious threat to pedestrians who at times got caught in waterlogged potholes and thereby sustain injuries or even  fractured legs.

He went further by informing the January gathering that apart from this road project, his 2nd term administration has commissioned buildings, schools, facelift of the Local Council Secretariat and the entire Ikoyi-Obalende metropolis.

Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal specially acknowledged the privileged presence of the number 4 man in the country for shelving other engagements for this road commissioning. He as well gave kudos to other dignitaries for identifying with his administration’s resolve to transform Ikoyi-Obalende for good.

Otunba Femi Pedro in his keynote address eulogised Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal led administration for all the good works we are seeing in the council and his readiness to support the Executive Chairman in any capacity for a greater Ikoyi-Obalende.

The Speaking Speaker while leading the commissioning exercise said he is very proud and comfortable to be identified with the laudable achievements of Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal and as such want him to continue bringing dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.

He went further by giving the Executive Chairman a pass mark for this great project and as well implored citizens to ensure good use of the road and report whoever attempts to cut the road for any reason to the appropriate government agency.

1. MHR. Babajide Obanikoro, Member, Eti-Osa Federal Constituency and his amiable wife.

2. Otunba Femi Pedro, former Lagos State Deputy Governor.

3. Mr. Yemisi Sidipo, CDC Chairman

4. High Chief Aro of Ikateland, representing the HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kusenla III)

5. Mrs. Toyin Martins, former Executive Secretary of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.
