The Rotary Club of Eko Atlantic (District 9110) and Ojodu Local Council Development Area have teamed up to provide standard and quality health care services.

This partnership was sealed during a meeting held with the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku in the early hours of Thursday 20th January.

Rotary (Change maker) President, Rtn Mamta Deb Roy expressed that the club has come with a mission to serve and change lives by adopting Ogba Primary Health Care Center as one of their community service projects, via delivery of qualitative health care services and donation of modern equipment & tools.

The club has a record of several supports through the donations of DY 300 Electrophoresis machine, Centrifuge machine, research binocular microscope machine, haemoglobin meter and laboratory incubator in 2020.

Likewise, in 2021 and 2022, the focus is on the donation of more laboratory equipment, creation of antenatal and postnatal care area, painting of wards, donation of antenatal and child health care, general care equipment, furniture and generator.

However, as Mamta expressed concern about sustainability and maintenance of all the donations and gestures, the Council-manager, Engr. Dele Abayomi allayed the fears of abandonment and mismanagement while giving an assurance that all the equipment and donations shall be put to good and optimal use.

Abayomi further appreciated the Club for generously considering Ojodu LCDA for these wonderful gestures amongst various Councils in the State.

The Medical Officer of Health, Dr Anne Okonma also corroborated the words of the CM by assuring that the services shall conform to Global Thrust on Universal Health Coverage for everyone.

Conclusively, the Chairman promised to look into the request for the expansion of Oluwole PHC in order to give room for further development, as commissioning is slated to happen before the end of first quarter of this year.
