NUPENG, PENGASSAN suspend planned strike after meeting with FG

The leadership of oil workers in Nigeria says its members will not be shutting down activities in the industry again.

The oil workers were due to commence an indefinite strike by midnight but for the intervention of the Ministers of Finance and Labour along with the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources.

A closed-door meeting is slated for 11 am today between the Federal Government team and the leadership of NUPENG and PENGASSAN at the Finance Headquarters in Abuja.

One of the National leaders of the union says members will be appropriately directed after the meeting.
