Abuja, November 23, 2025 – The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) formally inaugurated its newly reconstituted Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) on Friday at the NRC Headquarters, in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The inauguration marks more than a statutory requirement; it signals a renewed commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability across the NRC. As the Corporation continues to modernize operations, expand services, and enhance public engagement, strong ethical foundations remain essential.
ACTU is tasked with safeguarding NRC processes, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of governance. Newly appointed members were charged with leading by example, upholding ethical values across all departments, identifying potential risks, and collaborating with the ICPC to strengthen internal controls.
Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director/CEO of NRC, reaffirmed management’s commitment to creating an environment where transparency thrives, emphasizing that corruption and misconduct will not be tolerated in the Corporation.
Dr. Opeifa expressed gratitude to the ICPC for its support and to all participants who attended the ceremony, stressing that the NRC aims to set a benchmark for integrity within Nigeria’s public sector.
