The Nigerian Army (NA) has recorded significant operational gains across the country over the past 48 hours, neutralising 10 terrorists, arresting seven criminal suspects and recovering two locally fabricated firearms in a series of intelligence-driven operations aimed at degrading hostile elements.

In Kaduna State, troops conducting coordinated offensive and interdiction operations neutralised six terrorists. Three violent extremists were intercepted and killed while attempting to infiltrate Rijana town in Kachia Local Government Area (LGA), while another three suspected kidnappers were eliminated during clearance operations in Dangoma and Godogodo villages of Jema’a LGA. The troops also thwarted armed robbery attempts along major highways, rescued stranded civilians and sustained dominance along critical routes.

Elsewhere, troops neutralised one terrorist during a fighting patrol in Bagudo LGA of Kebbi State and destroyed identified terrorist hideouts in the area. In Benue State, three violent extremists were eliminated following a firefight along the Zaki-Biam–Ayati Road in Ukum LGA.

Across the South-South and North-Central regions, seven suspects were arrested for various offences, including illegal bunkering, drug trafficking and kidnapping. In Rivers State, troops apprehended illegal bunkerers and seized about 2,000 litres of stolen crude oil. Suspected drug dealers were arrested in Delta and Katsina States, while in Cross River State, troops recovered two locally fabricated firearms, illicit drugs and apprehended a suspected kidnapper. Large quantities of illegally refined petroleum products and suspected crude oil were also discovered and handled in line with existing directives.

In Kogi State, troops successfully rescued kidnap victims along the Kabba–Ayere Road after engaging terrorists. The criminals reportedly abandoned their captives and fled on sighting the troops. All rescued civilians are safe and receiving appropriate care, while sustained patrols continue to forestall a recurrence.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its constitutional mandate of securing the nation and protecting law-abiding citizens in support of civil authorities, noting that the latest successes underscore improved intelligence synergy and effective inter-agency collaboration.
