Nigeria’s Senior Men’s Handball Team has emerged as Group A leaders at the ongoing 27th Africa Men’s Handball Nations Cup (2026) following two impressive victories.
The team opened their campaign with a hard-fought 25–23 win over seven-time champions Algeria before delivering a commanding 36–18 victory against Zambia in their second match.
With four points from two games and a healthy +20 goal difference, the Golden Arrows have secured qualification for the quarterfinals and currently sit atop the Group A standings.
Nigeria will conclude their group-stage campaign against host nation Rwanda in what is expected to be a crucial encounter that could determine the final group positions and set the tone heading into the knockout stage.
The strong performances so far have drawn praise as the team continues to showcase Nigeria’s growing strength in African handball.
