The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress has cautioned Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi against politicizing philanthropic gestures, specifically the donation to the National Library by Senator Oluremi Tinubu during her birthday celebration.

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress has cautioned Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi against politicizing philanthropic gestures, specifically the donation to the National Library by Senator Oluremi Tinubu during her birthday celebration.

State APC spokesperson Mogaji Seye Oladejo issued the warning on Monday, noting that public institutions globally benefit from private donations and endowments that complement government efforts in nation-building.

Oladejo noted that such contributions should be promoted, as they reflect a shared duty to reinforce public institutions.

He called upon Nigerians to view the First Lady’s donation as a supportive measure for education and national development, rather than analyzing it through a political lens.

The APC’s spokesperson stressed that the priority should be to bolster national institutions and promote a culture of public-private partnership for the common good.
