My administration will prioritise Egbaland’s development, says Senator Adeola

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, otherwise known as Yayi, has declared that his administration will prioritise the overall development of Egbaland, particularly Abeokuta, the state capital, if he is elected governor.

Adeola said that, apart from the state capital, his government would also execute infrastructural projects capable of stimulating the socio-economic development of Ogun Central Senatorial District.

The senator stated this while speaking at the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, at the weekend.

Adeola, who was formally presented to the Alake by his kinsmen from his mother’s township of Kemta Odusolu, Abeokuta, informed the gathering that although he is currently representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, he has facilitated scores of infrastructural projects across all six local government areas in Ogun Central.

He added that his visit to the palace, led by the Oluwo of Kemta, Chief Abayomi Rotimi, was to officially inform the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland that he would be flying the governorship flag of the APC in next year’s poll.

Senator Adeola declared that he is not a stranger to Egbaland, as he has identified with his maternal roots there for the past two decades.

While thanking the Alake for his royal blessing, he disclosed that the monarch played a pivotal role during the build-up to his emergence as the governorship candidate of the APC.

He assured the people of Egbaland that they would be given pride of place in his administration, emphasising that he would run what he described as “inclusive governance”.

Senator Adeola, however, disclosed that work had already commenced on more projects he facilitated across Ogun Central Senatorial District.

“My visit here today is to formally inform the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, and my father, that I am the gubernatorial candidate of the APC.

“I am happy to be presented to this palace by my kinsmen from my maternal side in Kemta Odusolu township in Abeokuta. I am no stranger to Egbaland as I have identified with Egbaland 20 years ago Abeokuta is my maternal home and I hold the town very dear to my heart.

“As a senator representing Ogun West, I have facilitated several projects including roads, solar street lights, water, scholarships and bursaries, schools, library, health facilities and so on, to Ogun Central.

“I want to promise you that I will work for the overall development of Egbaland when I assume office as governor next year. As a bonafide son of the soil, I will not disappoint you as I will run an inclusive governance,” Senator Adeola stated.

Earlier, the APC governorship candidate was hosted at a civic reception by the people of Kemta Township during a homecoming event held at the popular Adire Market, Itoku, Abeokuta.

Addressing his kinsmen, Senator Adeola promised to work for the socio-economic development of the township, as well as the empowerment of women and youths.
