Ikeja, Lagos — October 28, 2025

The wife of the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Mrs. Fausat Temitope Dauda, has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to promoting education and youth development as she hosted the 2025 Ikeja Spelling Bee Competition at the LG Marriage Registry Hall.

The event, organized by the Education Department of Ikeja Local Government, brought together pupils and students from public schools across the area to compete in an atmosphere of learning, confidence, and excellence.

In her remarks, Mrs. Dauda applauded Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria, for pioneering the Spelling Bee initiative and inspiring young learners nationwide. She encouraged the contestants to stay committed to their studies, assuring them of the continuous support of the Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD) administration under the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, which focuses on Inspiring Knowledge, Empowering Juveniles, and Advancing Academics.

In the Primary School Category, Ismail Zainab of St. Peter’s Primary School emerged winner, followed by Sanni Abiodun of State Primary School in second place and Keturah Erebor of St. Peter’s Primary School in third. In the Secondary School Category, Amukwu Favour clinched first place, while Napoleon Anointing and Adesanya John came second and third respectively.

As part of the council’s tradition, the top three pupils in the primary category will serve in symbolic leadership roles — with Ismail Zainab as “Chairman for One Day,” Sanni Abiodun as “Vice Chairman,” and Keturah Erebor as “Leader of the Legislative House.”

Mrs. Dauda congratulated all participants, describing them as “the pride and promise of Ikeja’s future,” and reaffirmed that the council will continue to invest in education, leadership, and youth empowerment.
