Mojeed Balogun empowers Ikeja residents towards a fruitful 2020

The Executive Chairman Ikeja Local Government Council Dr Mojeed Balogun on Monday distributed equipment/items and cash to ameliorate the economic hardship and economically empowered some residents of Ikeja in preparation for a for fruitful Year 2020.

Dr. Balogun, while speaking to journalists at the event stated that aside for the developmental projects he had completed and ongoing the empowerment programme was in response to feedback from stakeholders and constituents in line with the bid to fulfil his campaign promises to constituents.

The Ikeja Council Boss also noted that he will continue to initiate programmes and policies aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the people. He urged the people of Ikeja to continue to support his administration in its quest to reposition the Local Government for socioeconomic development.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Southwest Women Leader and Member Governing Adversary Council Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson who expressed her excitement also told journalists at the event that “it can only get better for Ikeja and constituents as the Council boss, Dr. Mojeed Balogun has maintained focus in the delivery of the dividends of democracy to Ikeja people”.

Items distributed included cash gifts of N50, 000 to 20 beneficiaries, welding machines, sewing machines, vulcanizing machines, grinding machines, hair dryer, clippers and generating sets, various items for food vendors, catering utensils, office equipment and air-conditioners for the Ikeja Immigration Service, makeup boxes, food items and money for elders and widows, Toyota Sienna buses for Ikeja Community Development Committee (CDC), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Chief Imam of the Council and Council of Chiefs Ikeja Local Government.

The well attended event was graced by dignitaries which include the Chairman APC Ikeja Chapter Alhaji Dally Adeokun, erstwhile Chairman Ikeja Local Government Council Mayor Alani Okikioposu, former Sole Administrator of Ikeja Local Government Engr. Biodun Taiwo and some APC Ikeja LGA Executives

Recently Dr Mojeed Balogun bagged the Lagos Panorama SDG Grassroots Award 2019 for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals projects in Ikeja Local Government.
