Midnight fire destroys shops at Somolu market

A Midnight fire has destroyed sections of Olaleye Market in Somolu, Lagos.

The fire razed through the Olaleye market in the wee hours of this morning, leaving residents in tears.

More than than fifty shops with goods and property worth millions of naira were destroyed

Eyewitnesses say although the fire which started at about 3am was controlled by the timely efforts of the fire service team, most of the traders were not able to salvage their goods .

Emergency responders are to yet to confirm the cause of the inferno or if any casualty has been recorded.
