Massive turnout attends APC Ikeja LGA meeting, aspirants for LG elections restricted from using party’s logo, insignias

The All Progressives Congress, APC Ikeja chapter held its LGA meeting on Wednesday, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Tokunbo Ali Primary School venue for the event.

The All Progressives Congress APC Ikeja chapter held its LGA meeting on Wednesday, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Tokunbo Ali Primary School venue for the event.

Mayegun Dally Adeokun, LGA Chairman and Chair of the 57 APC LGA Chairmen in Lagos State, commenced the meeting by expressing his appreciation to all attendees for their substantial turnout, given the considerable period that had passed since the last meeting.

Adeokun stated that the commencement of the LGA meeting was in accordance with the directive of the State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who had also instructed that meetings be held across all 377 wards in Lagos State on Thursday.

He announced that aspirants for next year’s local government election should wait for the party’s guidelines and abstain from using the party’s logo and other insignias.

The Chair of Chair also asserted that Ikeja remains the most peaceful LGA in the State and the leadership will continue to maintain the peaceful coexistence.

During the event, Engr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun, Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Council, encouraged members to remain peaceful.

He also advised aspirants for the upcoming local government election to commit their aspirations to God and wait for the party’s guidelines.

Engr. Balogun expressed that he’s committed to honouring requests from the LGA Executive and presented party faithfuls with monetary gifts to offset transportation costs.

Apostle Titilayo Olowoporoku led special prayers in remembrance of the departed members before the meeting was adjourned.
