The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Hon. (Pastor) Cornelius Ojelabi, has appealed to party faithful across the state to maintain peace, discipline, and decorum as they participate in the party’s primary elections to elect flag bearers for the 2027 general elections.

Ojelabi, who also serves as Chairman of the Forum of APC State Chairmen nationwide, commended members for their steadfast commitment and contributions to the growth and stability of the party. He urged them to continue supporting the policies and programmes of the APC in the collective interest of strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

The Lagos APC chairman called on party members to join their counterparts across the country in turning out massively to elect candidates for the 24 House of Representatives seats in Lagos State. He assured members that adequate security arrangements had been put in place to guarantee their safety before, during, and after the exercise.

According to him, the party has made all necessary preparations to ensure a transparent and peaceful primary election, including providing a level-playing field for all aspirants and equal opportunities for eligible members to participate freely in the process.

Ojelabi, however, issued a strong warning to troublemakers and individuals seeking to create division or unrest during the exercise, stressing that the party would not tolerate acts of violence, intimidation, or sabotage from any member, regardless of status or position.

“We assure our teeming supporters of their safety and security as they come out to vote in this historic primary election of our party. Everything that could impede their peace and progress has been adequately addressed. We therefore warn mischief makers to desist from any act capable of disrupting the process, as such actions will not be condoned,” he stated.

He further advised aspirants to caution their supporters against any form of misconduct, noting that any violence linked to an aspirant could attract severe sanctions in line with the peace accord signed with the party. Such penalties, he said, may include disqualification from the race, suspension, or outright expulsion from the party.
