Speaking at a maiden meeting held with private laboratory owners in Lagos, the General Manager said that a test report template approved by the stakeholders will be established so that test results can be harmonised in the State, noting that new technology evolves every day, as such, it is important to establish new standards in order to conform with present realities.

Elulade asserted that it is now compulsory for all material testing laboratories to get their test reports approved by the Agency before sending it out to their clients so as to stamp out quackery, while soliciting for their cooperation in order to move the industry forward.

Informing the stakeholders that there will soon be a conference on issues that are germane to the sector, the General Manager said the agency also intends to carry out unscheduled visits to the private laboratories as part of its monitoring and enforcement activities.

Responding, a private laboratory owner, Engr. Kazeem Oluwa, who spoke on behalf of others, congratulated the General Manager on his appointment, adding the association is looking forward to a cordial working relationship with LSMTL under his leadership.
