LOK Foundation doles out free JAMB forms to 500 youths in Ikeja

As Parts of its usual efforts to eradicate poverty at the grassroots the Founder and CEO of LOK Foundation, Engr. Luqmaan Olabode Kehinde Akerele,  gave out 500 free JAMB forms to students within the Ikeja Constituency 1 on Thursday 8th February 2024, at the Awori Town Hall, Oregun in Onigbogbo LCDA

In his keynote address Engr. Kehinde Akerele alluded that the reason for forming the foundation in 2019 was to promote and improve the quality of life of the people at the grassroots level and education is an integral part of it.

He noted that the free JAMB form is an annual event and this is the fifth since the formation of the foundation.

Also present at the occasion were community leaders, parents and scholars whom have benefited from the previous beneficiaries of the free JAMB forms program and gotten admission into higher institutions were on ground to give testimonies and encomiums to the LOK Foundation Chairman.

However, the former Lagos State House of Assembly candidate further encouraged the beneficiaries not to let him down but make judicious use of the JAMB form by studying well so as to get high scores to gain admission and come out of their respective schools with flying colors.

He also encouraged them to be flexible in the choice of their courses and schools that they wish to further.

Engr. Akerele also advised the beneficiaries to strive to always be the best of what they want to be through hard work and perseverance.

The Chairman of the event, Mr. Samson admonished the beneficiaries to be serious and focus to achieve their respective academic goals so that in the near future they too can reciprocate LOK Foundation good gesture by also doing same to upcoming youths.

Mr. Samson noted that he is impressed with Engr. Akerele sincere service to the people despite not holding any political office.

The Ekerin of Onigbongbo-Land, Alhaji Tajudeen Olubayo expressed appreciation to the Engr. Akerele for his continuous support to the people, especially for his Foundation initiatives of empowerment to women and the educational supports to the teeming youths and prayed that the Almighty God shall grant him his heart desires.

He implored the beneficiaries to make best use of the opportunity given them by the LOK Foundation and also said his was a beneficiary last year.

Chief Disu also commended the foundation for the laudable initiative and also advised the beneficiaries to be careful and sure before picking any course and school because of the competitive nature of the admission process.

Some of the parents of previous beneficiaries gave testimonies and appreciations, Olori Yusuf Jumoke in her goodwill message said some of their children in Onigbongbo, Oregun, Olusosun are already in 200 level, 100 level courtesy of the LOK Foundation educational support.

She said her daughter currently in 200 level was almost missing the JAMB examination two years ago if not for the free form given to her by the foundation. She prayed for the progress of Engr. Akerele and the LOK Foundation.

Operation Puff Adder II – Police arrest 48 notorious criminal suspects

Following the flag-off of ‘Operation Puff Adder II’ by the Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni on 15th February, 2021, to reinvigorate the ongoing fight against violent crimes in the country and bring the perpetrators to book, operatives of the FIB Intelligence Response Team IRT and Special Tactical Squad STS of the Force attached to the Operation Puff Adder II have arrested forty-eight (48) criminal suspects, including forty-seven (47) male and one (1) female, for their involvement and indictment in cases of armed robbery, kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms, cybercrime/financial fraud and other heinous crimes in some parts of the country. Forty-one (41) prohibited firearms including fourteen (14) AK47 rifles, ten (10) AK47 Magazines, fifty-eight (58) live cartridges, four (4) AK47 live ammunition, four (4) POS Machines, two (2) laptop computers, eighteen (18) mobile phones, Internet MODEM and nine (9) ATM cards were recovered from the suspects in the operations.
