LOCAL Government Service Commission set to visit LG/LCDAs

In furtherance of its efforts to improve service delivery of the workforce in the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State, the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) will embark on working visits to the 57 Unified Local Government Councils in the State.

In furtherance of its efforts to improve service delivery of the workforce in the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State, the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) will embark on working visits to the 57 Unified Local Government Councils in the State. 

The Chairman of LGSC, Mr. Kamal Bayewu spoke about the initiative at the Commission’s Policy Meeting held in Alausa, Ikeja, reiterating that the proposed monitoring visits will commence on Thursday 24th February 2022.


Bayewu explained that the aim of the tour is to monitor the activities of each Local Government and Local Council Development Area, especially on appointments, discipline and promotion of employees in order to ensure that relevant guidelines are strictly and uniformly adhered to. 

The tour, he added, is also expected to resolve all issues relating to recruitments, promotions, deployments, discipline and transfer in the Unified Local Government Service of the State.


The Chairman declared that the Local Government Service Commission, through its Members, Permanent Secretary and the entire Management team of LGSC, is committed to performing its statutory role as an appellate body for all petitions from all Local Government Employees.
