Lions Club donates oxygen concentrators, electronic hand dryers to LASUTH

The Lions Club District 404B1, on Wednesday, donated two oxygen concentrators and automatic hand dryers to the Paediatrics Department of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The Lions Club District 404B1, on Wednesday, donated two oxygen concentrators and automatic hand dryers to the Paediatrics Department of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, who received the items on behalf of the department, stated that the management has a longstanding relationship with Lions Club, adding that the Club had sponsored a number of projects in the hospital.

The CMD described the donation as ‘timely’ given the increase in the demand for enhanced healthcare services, saying “the hospital relies on the assistance and support from kind-hearted organisations like yours in meeting up with our responsibilities since the government cannot do everything all alone”.

He noted that the Club’s contribution to the fight against cancer, through the donation to the Paediatrics Department, is timely and highly appreciated, praying that the club will go from strength to strength and continue to impact humanity.

Earlier, Lion Lesley Olanrewaju, Chairman of the Paediatrics Cancer Committee of the Club and staff of LASUTH, presented the items to the management of the hospital, stating that the gesture was an initiative of his committee to provide support and create awareness for childhood cancer treatment.

He disclosed that the donated items are specifically meant for the Paediatrics Department of the hospital to assist in the management of children living with cancer.

In her remarks, the District Governor of the Lions Club, Mrs. Oluremi Lynda Odumbaku, appreciated the CMD for commending the Club and hoped that the cooperation between the two organisations will continue to flourish.

Management staff present at the event included the Acting Director of Clinical Services and Training, Prof. Adebowale Adekoya; Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Adebola Aina; Representative, Head of Paediatrics Department, Dr. Omolola Lamina; Assistant Director Nursing Services, Paediatrics Department, Mrs. Omolara Ore; Head of Internal Audit Unit, Mr. Adebayo Adekoya; Senior Special Assistant to the CMD, Mr. Kingsley Dabor and Head of Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Oladeji Adewunmi among others.
