“It is not out of hand if each worker could generate a N100,000 as revenue for the LGA,” he began.

He posited that every worker must consider its primary role as a revenue collector from their various places of abode.

“You must begin to see those small businesses being operated in the streets as potential revenues,” he added.

In a bid to assure members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in AJIF LGA of the council chairman’s willingness to improve welfare of her members, LGSC boss, Kamal Bayewu urged them to speak out on their needs for improved welfare.

Speaking on behalf of AJIF civil servant workers, President of NULGE in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Comrade Olawale Faola, said members of staff wants some basic needs such as revenue bus, staff canteen, ICT centre and staff clinic.

Hon. Kamal while acknowledging these requests, urged the members of staff to intensify their revenue strengths in order for their demands to be met.

“Life is give and take, ensure you increase your revenue generation methods so that the council chairman can attend to your needs also,” he concluded.

Corroborating the position of LGSC boss, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola said his administration has already met some of these needs, but also wants workers to increase the turnover of the council’s IGR.

“My government has been able to refurbish the staff canteen and clinic after it was looted by the hoodlums during ENDSARS protest,” he said.

The council boss went further by insisting that “only some few needs such as furniture, medical utensils and drugs are some of the remaining items needed to equip these facilities.”

Hon. Ayoola also assured workers of getting sufficient space at the ongoing construction of new council secretariat.

In his words: “We have over 40 offices that would be occupied in the new council secretariat once it is completed.”

He concluded by promising to grant the request of NULGE boss, who demanded for a revenue bus that would enhance mobility and access for improved revenue generation in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The familiarization tour led by the chairman of the LGSC, Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu, together with the commissioners and senior management staffers of the commission was symbolic; being the first official visit by the former council chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The event also had in attendance, Leader of the 5th Legislative chamber in AJIF LGA, Hon. Kehinde Arogundade and some legislators. The management team was led by the council manager, Mrs. Mayowa Ikuforiji, which also included other senior management of the council and staffers of the LGA, inside the newly refurbished banquet hall of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area.
