At the commissioning of the facility which was provided by the Rotary Club of Ikeja GRA, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, emphasized that the 26-bed facility was to ensure relatives remain in close touch with their loved ones undergoing medical treatment at the hospital.

He said that the concept had been in development for a long time, noting that an earlier attempt to implement it through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model did not materialize until the Rotary Club of Ikeja GRA proposed and donated the building thus making the initiative a reality.
The CMD said the quarter commenced operations about 10 days before commissioning and recorded good patronage.
Fabamwo stated that the initiative was driven by LASUTH’s commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring that patient attendants no longer need to endure uncomfortable conditions such as sleeping in cars or being exposed to mosquitoes.
The 26-bed quarter has two wings for male and female occupants, with 13 beds assigned to each gender. The environment is clean and conducive, ensuring that patient attendants have a suitable space to rest and refresh.
