The Executive Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, on Tuesday, 22nd December 2020, commissioned a block of six classrooms with toilets, staff room, head teacher’s office, and some other utility items at Abejoye Community Primary School around the Dangote Oil Refinery Company.

The Executive Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, on Tuesday, 22nd December 2020, commissioned a block of six classrooms with toilets, staff room, head teacher’s office, and some other utility items at Abejoye Community Primary School around the Dangote Oil Refinery Company.

Alawiye-King, represented at the event by Arc. Mrs. Ebaide Omokore, Director of Projects Department, appreciated Dangote Group for funding the project, stating that the State Government is committed to delivering all-inclusive, quality Basic Education in a conducive environment for learning aided by technology.

He applauded the Dangote Company for providing the facilities to promote positive learning outcomes, adding that the Board is also carrying out infrastructure upgrade and renovation in many parts of the State, especially within hard-to-reach communities.

The Executive Chairman revealed that there is an ongoing partnership with relevant stakeholders to digitalise public primary school education through the Ekoexcel initiative and charged the management of Abejoye Community to take ownership of the school for proper maintenance of the facilities for the benefit of pupils.

Also speaking at the event, Mr. Devakumar Edwin, Group Executive Director, Dangote Group affirmed that the Company will continue to support the Lagos State Government to continually improve the education sector.

“With the continuous support of the people and the Lagos State Government, we shall not relent in our efforts to be socially accountable while we positively impact our host communities,” Edwin said.
