LASPEMA gets new General Manager

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Tpl. Daisi Oso as General Manager, Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority (LASPEMA), with effect from August 2, 2021.

A statement signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, noted that in approving Tpl. Oso’s appointment due cognisance was taken of his impressive track records.

His words: “In approving your appointment, due cognisance was taken of your impressive track records. I, therefore, have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of experience to bear on the work of the Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority (LASPEMA) and justify the confidence reposed in you by Mr. Governor”.

Tpl. Daisi Oso, in his maiden speech as the General Manager of the Agency during a reception organised by staff, stated that all hands must be on deck to improve the fortunes of LASPEMA.

While maintaining that he cannot improve the work of the Agency alone, he solicited for maximum support from all and sundry, stressing that by working together in unity and harmony, new grounds can be broken.

Tpl. Oso promised to leverage his experience as a seasoned and certified Town Planner to make the Agency visible in the urban space by working closely with the informal sector, embarking on vigorous advocacy, sensitisation and media parley among others.

“The informal business sector contributes over 70% to the Gross Domestic Product of the State’s economy and as such they must be well administered for maximum productivity”, he said.
