She admonished individuals, public and private organisations, as well as Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), to join hands with LASPARK in promoting a sustainable and healthy State through tree planting.

Speaking further, Popoola projected that the city of Lagos, in the next couple of years, will be overpopulated and when this happens, the environment will lose its essential natural assets, stressing the need to plant as many trees as possible for restoration of the earth.

Also speaking, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer of AXA Mansard Insurance, Mrs. Jumoke Odunlami, stated that climate change is a major issue in the country, reiterating that Nigeria’s commitment to being carbon neutral by Y2060 makes tree planting the best way to offset carbon emission in the surroundings.

She also disclosed that the second phase of the AXA Root Movement is scheduled to commence soon and everyone will be encouraged to plant a tree, noting that the AXA Mansard Team is committed to propagating tree planting agenda in Lagos State.
