The Ministry of Establishments and Training has commenced a two-day training programme for Town Planners, Land Officers, Surveyors and Engineers in the State Civil Service.

The training programme with the theme: “Incorporating Key Concepts and Techniques in Geographical Information System (GIS) Towards Making Lagos 21st Century City”, commenced today at Citi Height Luxury Hotel, Ikeja and is slated to end on Tuesday.May be an image of one or more people

Declaring the training programme open, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun stated that the objective of the training was to empower officers on the GIS with skills needed to contribute to the transformation of Lagos into a smart, sustainable and resilient city.

Abidakun commended participants for being professional in their various fields, adding that the THEMES PLUS Agenda of the current administration would be best achieved when all the professionals in the State Public Service give their utmost best.

She emphasised the importance of self-development, stating that it helps Officers to have an edge and stay relevant. “Train and re-train yourselves”, Abidakun Added. She further urged participants to cascade what they have learnt at the training to their downlines in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Earlier in her opening remarks, the Director of Training, Mr. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite admonished the participants to maximise and utilise the capacity building opportunity for growth and personal development that would be beneficial to them and those around them.

About 100 Participants who are drawn from the Ministry of Physical Planning, Office of Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Lands Bureau and Ministry of Works and Infrastructure are attending the programme.
