LASG continues training on Performance Management

The Lagos State Government has commenced the third batch of training on Performance Management Fundamentals for personnel of the Unified Local Government Service.

The Lagos State Government has commenced the third batch of training on Performance Management Fundamentals for personnel of the Unified Local Government Service.

The training, which was put together by the Local Government Establishments, Training and Pensions Office, focused on Developing Effective Communication Skills, Memo writing and Approved Channels of Communication in the Public Service.

Speaking at the training the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Establishment, Training and Pensions Office, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, charged participants to be impactful and ensure value in the delivery of services at their various duty posts.

Her words: “Achieving organisational objectives requires effective communication and the essence of this training is to build your capacity and bridge the gaps that have been identified in terms of memo writing and effective communication.

“I want to assure you that we have the best hands, so be open to learning because you will be greatly enriched and become impactful in your various Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas”.

Mrs. Folashade Coker, one of the facilitators at the workshop, gave assurance that the training will reinforce knowledge, increase confidence, improve skills and generate new ideas.

“Being able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills because it improves the ability to collaborate with one another”, she said.
