The Eagle Squad at Cappa, Oshodi was deployed to Oshodi Oke Bridge where a tanker had an accident.
Consequent upon the arrival of the Team at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that an unidentified tanker loaded with Sixty Thousand Litres of PMS( Petrol) spilled its contents.
Investigation conducted revealed the tanker was hit by an unknown truck while ascending the Oshodi Oke Bridge.
The impact of the accident resulted in damage of the third compartment of the tanker and the content oozed out uncontrollably.
However, the team was hindered from the recovery operation by some hooligans who scooped the spilled fuel with different sizes of Jerricans .
The Team thereafter requested for immediate deployment of Rapid Response Squad, RRS for security coverage to curtail the activities of these hoodlums in other to prevent a secondary incident.
Within a twinkle of an eye, The RRS was deployed to the scene and the thugs dispersed while the LASEMA Response Team was able to recover the tanker and it was towed to LASTMA Headquarters in Oshodi.
The Tiger Squad, also recovered the wreckages of a Toyota Camry with registration number AGL 299 GP at Toll Gate before the Trauma Centre.
Investigation conducted at the scene revealed the immediate cause of the accident was due to wreckless driving as the car crashed into a truck.
An adult female who was in the car lost her life due to the impact of the collision.
The wreckages was recovered off the road with a privately owned tow-truck and handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, ALAUSA Division.
The Eagle Squad activated its Resources to Coker, inward 2nd Rainbow where a trailer with reg no. XS 892 FST conveying a 40ft container fell sideways. Further investigation revealed that it happened due to reckless driving and overspeeding while negotiating the roundabout along the axis.
No casualties was recorded, however, the team and LASTMA Officials jointly evacuated it off the road with the aid of the Agency’s Heavy Duty Equipment, after the contents, water closet were trans-loaded into another tanker for ease recovery.
