Land grabbing: Special Taskforce holds stakeholders meeting in Lagos

A stakeholders’ meeting is underway in Ikorodu to sensitise residents on the unwholesome practice of land grabbing in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Special Taskforce on Land Grabbers, chaired by the Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in the state, Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, convened the meeting, which is themed, “LANDGRABBERS, THE LAW AND YOUR RIGHTS”.

According to the Coordinator, Special Taskforce on Land Grabbers, Owolabi Arole, the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu is determined to put a final stop to the activities of Land grabbers in the State.

He also noted that, “It is of great concern that despite many successes already recorded by the Taskforce on Land Grabbers in the fight against the unwholesome Land grabbing practice, a few recalcitrant Land Grabbers still engage in the act”.

The Stakeholders meeting is being flagged off in Ikorodu, one of the major areas where land grabbing is prevalent, and the programme will spread to the five other divisions of Lagos State.

Dignitaries are drawn from the Ministry of Justice, Lands’ Bureau, Office of the Surveyor-General, And law enforcement agencies.

Traditional rulers, Local government officials and land owning families are also present.
