LAISA ASSURES FARMERS OF CONTINUED SUPPORT

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode

The Lagos State Agricultural Input Supply Authority, LAISA, has assured farmers that it will continue to empower and support them in order to boost food production and ensure food security in the state.

The General Manager of the Agency, Mr. Bolaji Balogun gave the assurance recently when he visited some farm centres in Lagos.

He said that the State Government had strategically located the various farm centres in each of the divisions for easy access by sub-distributors of Agricultural produce and for farm owners to also benefit from the subsidized farm inputs from the government.

“The State Government through LAISA had established these farm centres to cover the divisions of Lagos State and in close proximity to farms in rural dwellings like Epe, Badagry and Ikorodu as a way of giving farmers easy access to farm inputs”, Balogun stated.

He listed the location of the various farm centres to include Epe, Badagry, Ajah, Agege, Oko-Oba, Ikorodu and Ojo Local Government Area Secretariat which serves as Head Office for the centres.

The General Manager disclosed that the Agency does not only bring Agricultural inputs like fertilizer seedlings, Organic products, Agro Chemicals and farm implements closer to the farmers but that it also sells at comparatively cheap prices to encourage farmers and boost food production in the State.

He, therefore, urged farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector to avail themselves of the opportunities made available by LAISA to advance their farm produce.
