Lagos Staff Development Centre Seeks Synergy With Agric Ministry

Director-General of the Lagos State Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Mr. Adekunmilola Adio-Moses has sought a strong and sustainable synergy with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture.

Adio-Moses made the call during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Agriculture, adding that food security is very important in any state since 80 per cent of vices such as crime and unemployment can be solved through it in society.

The DG further stressed that Lagos State is blessed to have recorded a lot of successes through the Agricultural sector of the State and thus the PSSDC is therefore seeking to help move in that direction by identifying more areas in which capacity-building will sustain the successes achieved so far.

He went on to say that food security starts from the grassroots which is the Local Government Areas where distribution and sustenance can be put in place.

Adio-Moses disclosed that PSSDC is interested in helping Local Government build capacity to have synergy with the agric sector in terms of the type of staff training, which would not only be theoretical but very practical.

In addition, he mentioned that proper documentation is highly necessary to record the successes achieved by the agric sector of the State for future training of Agricultural officers as well as providing case studies for posterity.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs. Olatokunbo Emokpae, while welcoming the PSSDC team to the Ministry, informed that there are various departments and units in the Ministry ranging from the Fishery to Agric Service, Veterinary, Training Institute, and Policy departments which were created to cater to sundry levels of the agricultural value chain

Emokpae assured the delegation of the readiness of the Ministry to collaborate with the Centre and bring to actualisation a strong capacity-building system.
