The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) former chairman and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Isreal Ajao (retd), has been confirmed to have passed on, barely seven months after leaving office.
As gathered, Ajao, who was a Lagos and Ogun former Commissioner of Police, was said to be over 60 years old and he died in his house in Lagos hours after completing his dinner.It was learnt that the development had disrupted activities at the Neighbourhood Safety Corps, as many staff could not believe that the pioneer chairman of rebranded agency could die so soon.
The Guild learnt that the deceased was said to have an underlying ailment before leaving office and that it was not obvious to many except some staff.
The death of the former chairman was confirmed on Saturday to The Guild by a source at the Safety Corps headquarters in Oshodi axis of the state.
According to the source, Ajao, who was appointed chairman of the security agency by former governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, died at the early hours of yesterday.
