Lagos Monitoring Team Commends Ejigbadero’s People-Centred Projects in Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA

The Lagos State Government’s project monitoring team has commended the administration of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman, Hon Abiodun Jimoh Isola Ejigbadero, for the implementation of people-oriented projects and programmes since he assumed office in July 2025.

The commendation was delivered on Wednesday during a working visit by a delegation from the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development to assess projects executed by the council in 2025.

Speaking on behalf of the nine-member team, the leader, Solesi Hassan, Director of Monitoring in the ministry, said the visit was aimed at inspecting ongoing and completed projects, as well as evaluating developmental initiatives introduced by the current administration.

Hassan praised the chairman for prioritising the welfare of residents but advised the council to intensify efforts in youth and women empowerment, particularly through the provision of skills acquisition tools to promote self-reliance.

In her remarks, the Council Manager, Mrs Gbemisola Fregene, who represented the chairman, expressed appreciation to the monitoring team for the visit and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to grassroots development.

She highlighted key initiatives of the Ejigbadero-led administration, including the introduction of a monthly Renewed Hope Cash Transfer Scheme in December 2025, under which 300 residents received ₦100,000 each to support small businesses and household needs.

Fregene further disclosed that the council has embarked on the construction of major access roads across its seven wards and distributed utility vehicles to stakeholders to enhance service delivery and community engagement.

The visit also provided an opportunity for heads of departments and units within the LCDA to present reports on their activities for the year under review.

Members of the monitoring team included Director of Environmental Services and Waste Management, Sanitarian Akindele Abolade; Mr Aribidesi Lukman; Mr Adewale Olusegun; and Mr Oluwa Hakeem, among others.

Top management staff of the council present at the meeting were the Council Treasurer, Mrs Faoziat Abdul Salam; Director of Environmental Services, Sanitarian Olubunmi Okeowo; Medical Officer of Health, Dr Adesola Sekoni; and Head of Agriculture, Rural and Social Development, Mrs Funmilayo Adetoro.

Others included the Head of Education and Library Services, Mrs Sarah Oyalowo; Head of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Christiana Adebanjo; and Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Mr Hassan Rabiu, among others.
