About a week after the death of a female Councillor from Ibeju Lekki LCDA, Hon Zainab Adeshewa Shotayo, a female Councillor representing Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, passed away on Monday following a brief illness.
Hon Shotayo’s demise was announced in a press release signed by Hon Seyi Jakande, Executive Chairman Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.
The statement read: Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of Hon. Zainab Adeshewa Shotayo, Councillor for Ward C3 and the only female member of the 6th Legislative House. Hon. Shotayo, who also served as the Chief Whip, succumbed to a brief illness yesterday, August 18, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to our community.
The Council Chairman pointed out that Hon. Zainab Shotayo was not only the youngest member of the Council but also an inspiring figure who exemplified resilience and leadership. She was not merely a representative; she was a role model for many, particularly young women aspiring to take on leadership roles in our community.
He further stated that her dedication to public service and her pursuit of progress for the constituents of Ward C3 and the greater Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to work alongside her during her time in office.
“On behalf of the Council and the entire Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye community, I extend our deepest condolences to Hon. Shotayo’s family, friends and the entire Ward C3 during this difficult time. We grieve with you as we honour her contributions and the profound impact she made within our community. We share in your grief and stand in solidarity with you as we navigate this irreparable loss together” Hon Jakande averred.
“Hon. Shotayo’s spirit of service and her vibrant presence will be greatly missed, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts”.
“As we mourn her loss, let us also carry forward her vision for a brighter and more prosperous future”.
May her soul rest in peace.

Who is afraid of Tinubu?

Why do many political opponents dread the All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, so much so that in their wishful thinking they hope he gives way or simply quit the stage? Why should political contestation get to the point where our so-called political leaders would be wishing their competitors dead if they are actually in politics for the public good? These are some of the questions that have agitated my mind following the repeated unfounded rumours about Asiwaju Tinubu’s health status. In the last few months, the former Lagos governor has died many times over in the reckoning of these nefarious persons.
