Lagos Govt. Inaugurates Committee For 2022 Hajj Operation Ahead Airlifting

The Lagos State Government has inaugurated a committee for the 2022 Hajj operation both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia ahead airlifting.

The Lagos State Government has inaugurated a committee for the 2022 Hajj operation both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia ahead airlifting.

The sub-committees were said have comprised of a Chairman and two members to handle Transport, Welfare, Medical, Dawah and Enlightenment, Madinah, Muna and Arafah, Passport and Visa process.

Others tasks to be handled by the committee are Security and Luggage, Media and Publicity, Accommodation, Manifest and Airlifting, Judiciary and Special duties.

Through a statement released by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Taofeek Lawal, on Friday, in Lagos, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Anofiu Elegushi said that they should consider the appointment as a call to selflessly serve the Government and the good people of the State, especially the intending pilgrims.

Elegushi, who recalled the challenges the coronavirus pandemic caused on previous Hajj, said that the doors of the Kingdom have been opened and that the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and other stakeholders have intensified efforts towards ensuring a successful operation for the intending pilgrims.

He urged them to cooperate fully with the members of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and other stakeholders towards ensuring that the much expected success is achieved with the exercise.

The Commissioner further noted that the Lagos State government’s support towards ensuring maximum comfort for the intending pilgrims has been wonderful and awesome.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Whenu Oluseyi, urged the members not to betray the trust and confidence reposed in them by the Government.

Meanwhile, responding on behalf of the sub-committees’, the Chairman Security and Luggage, Wale Adeniji commended the Governor and his deputy for finding them worthy of the appointment.

He further promised that members of the committee would work assiduously to achieve success and would not disappoint in carrying out the assignment.
