A member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and a high ranking stakeholder of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Professor Tunde Samuel has died on Wednesday night.
Samuel was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edun on 26th October 1948. He was one of the founding fathers of the Lagos State University both as a member of the Implementation Committee and two-time members of the Provisional Government Council.
He is one of the trusted ally and top political strategist for Nigeria’s presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Professor Samuel was the pioneer Provost of the Lagos State College of Primary Education which has just been upgraded to the Lagos State University of Education.
He assisted the Former Governor of Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in several capacities, in Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, and National awards in Nigeria and Diaspora. He worked co-currently with Professor Babs Fafunwa in his Educational Foundation Programmes in developing the Human Resource Experts for Productivity and Effectiveness.
Till his death, Prof. Tunde Samuel was “a proven Pathfinder, an Untainted Progressive, a Quintessential Leader, a Trusted Grassrooter, a Visionary Personality, a Solid Mobilize and a Stabilizer” , as eulogized by the State’s Executive Council on his last birthday, celebrated 3 months ago.
Samuel was honoured with “Distinguished Professor of Education Leader in the 21st century” for his contribution to quality education. His Intellectual Disposition/Strength, Past and Present Educational Experience, Academic Pedigree, and Service to Humanity.
