The Lagos State Government has celebrated the outstanding performance of Dazzle Football Club of Lagos following the team’s impressive outing at the prestigious Dana Cup in Denmark.
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, alongside the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, received the young champions at the Commission’s office at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Dazzle FC emerged champions in the U-12 category, winning the Gold Medal, while the club secured a Silver Medal in the U-14 category. Adding to the team’s remarkable achievement, Toheeb Ojerinde of the U-14 squad was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Congratulating the players and technical crew, Hon. Fatodu commended the team for its exceptional performance on the international stage, stressing that their achievement has brought pride to Lagos State and Nigeria.
Welcoming the champions, Fatodu said the recognition was a demonstration of the government’s commitment to rewarding excellence and creating an environment where young talents can thrive.
“The ecosystem, actually championed by the President, is such that when you do well, a grateful state and nation receive you. This is the manifestation of that word this morning.
“Imagine when the drop creates a significant ripple. That is what you have done, and that ripple is what is going to inspire other people.”
Fatodu further reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to nurturing talents, empowering dreams and inspiring the next generation of champions.
