The political instability in the Lagos State House of Assembly seems to be over as members of the Assembly and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) have reached a consensus on RT Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda for the Speakership.

Lagos State House of Assembly members returned from a meeting in Marina, where Princess Lasbat Mojisola Meranda was confirmed as the authentic Speaker
After a meeting between the two parties, where the notion of a new speaker was introduced, it was agreed that Lagos West should automatically produce the new speaker, having accepted the removal of former speaker Obasa.
However, members of the Assembly from Lagos West vigorously rejected this proposal, reiterating their firm stance in support of RT Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda’s election.
Lagos Panorama gathered from reliable sources that GAC members who sought to facilitate a smooth transition for former Speaker Obasa were surprised by the opposition from Lagos West members and others, who rejected both the idea of his return and the proposal for a new speaker, expressing their satisfaction with RT Hon Mojisola Meranda.
Lagos West members gathered behind closed doors and subsequently expressed their support for RT Hon Mojisola Meranda’s reappointment as speaker.
As stated by a member: “We are content with our speaker, RT Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda. That’s the position we presented at the meeting. So, that’s where we stand and we will not change”,
