The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded sharply to recent allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which accused “Tinubu’s APC” of attempting to silence the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the party described the ADC’s remarks as “an attention-seeking outburst from a party desperate for relevance,” stressing that no one can silence a voice that Nigerians have already tuned out.

“The ADC’s statement is the political equivalent of a mosquito accusing a lion of roaring too loudly,” Oladejo said. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC are too busy reshaping Nigeria’s destiny to bother with political spectators who only appear during election season to make noise and vanish after the count.”

Oladejo noted that while the APC is focused on strengthening its structures, refining governance strategies, and promoting national unity, the opposition—particularly the ADC—remains trapped in internal confusion and self-inflicted obscurity.

“It is laughable that a party which exists only on newspaper pages and WhatsApp groups claims to be under threat. From whom, exactly?” he queried. “Nigerians have moved on from empty political vessels. The ADC’s brand of politics has no base, no followers, and no relevance—just a press release and a fading logo.”

The APC spokesman further criticized the ADC for what he described as “a pre-election excuse campaign,” arguing that the party is already preparing justification for its electoral failure before the race begins.

“You don’t lose elections because your opponents silenced you,” Oladejo asserted. “You lose because the people don’t believe in you. The ADC should focus on rebuilding its credibility rather than hallucinating about persecution.”

According to the statement, President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda remains firmly on course, delivering results across sectors, while the APC refuses to be distracted by “professional complainers.”

“The only thing being silenced in Nigeria today is failure, confusion, and the politics of bitterness that some opposition parties have perfected as an art form,” Oladejo stated.

Concluding, the Lagos APC reaffirmed its commitment to building a nation of unity, prosperity, and opportunity under President Tinubu’s leadership, advising the ADC to “stop crying wolf” and start engaging in constructive politics.

“If the ADC spent half as much time organizing as it does issuing press statements, Nigerians might actually remember it exists,” Oladejo added. “But for now, the nation has moved on.”
